Publish and Update a PGP Key
I still keep a rather old PGP key around, and I have extended its lifetime by changing its expiry date. Something I would not recommend, because everyone with an old copy of the key in their keyring gets an “expired” warning or error.
Here is a short list where I currently publish my public key. It will be my checklist when I finally do generate a new key next year:
- in the text of my Contact page
- ASCII file on this webserver
- binary file on this weberver, for Web Key Directory (WKD)
- my account on keybase.io
- my account on github.com (afaik it is not public there, but used to verify signed commits)
- on public key servers, ad hoc I see keys.openpgp.org and keyserver.ubuntu.com
